Background

Purpose

NTG
Clarity
Networks
has
undertaken
several
projects
that
were
international
in
scope
for
a
major
oil
and
gas
producing
company
in
Canada
with
head
offices
in
Calgary
and
a
number
of
international
operations.
NTG
was
able
to
provide
a
project
manager
to
manage
Information
Technology
Services
at
a
site
in
Malaysia
for
a
period
of
six
months
and
at
a
site
in
Sudan
for
a
period
of
over
one
year. |

Main
Activities
and
Environment
:

The
main
activities
of
the
project
manager
centered
on
the
setup
of
the
information
technology
site
environment,
hiring
and
training
of
staff
and
preparation
of
reports
and
documentation
to
turn
the
facility
over
to
internal
staff.
NTG
staff
also
designed
and
implemented
a
network
for
these
remote
offices.
The
key
activities
here
included
network
planning
and
design,
equipment
purchase,
wiring
and
setup. |

Used

In
Malaysia,
the
technology
used
was
based
on
the
Windows
NT/2000
based
platform.
In
Sudan,
the
project
work
was
done
on
a
Linux
based
platform.

Accomplishments
and
Results
:

The
management
of
these
projects
was
international
in
scope
and
underscored
the
ability
of
NTG
Clarity
to
provide
qualified
and
experienced
personnel,
on
short
notice,
to
various
parts
of
the
world
with
a
knowledge
of
the
culture,
people
and
special
needs
of
their
environment.
The
projects
demonstrated
a
strong
capability
of
NTG
personnel
to
deal
effectively
and
efficiently
with
people
in
a
different
culture
and
environment
and
successfully
accomplish
their
tasks.
The
Malaysia
site
IT
management
project
was
successfully
completed
and
the
Sudan
site
IT
management
project
is
still
in
progress. |
